Discover PMT X118: Q&A

Meet PMT X118! This innovative mounting system is redefining industry standards with its robust steel construction and advanced design features. We have gathered everything you need to know about PMT X118 for your project in this Q&A, together with PMT’s technical department.

PMT X118

What makes PMT X118 different from PMT EVO?

Introducing the PMT X118, crafted entirely from steel, a departure from the aluminum construction of its counterpart, the PMT EVO. To accommodate the increasing size of modules, panels are now securely clamped along their long sides. Leveraging the weight of steel, the X118 demands less additional ballast compared to the EVO. Due to the different characteristics and reaction on dilitation, we are able to build fields with 30x30m length.

What are the biggest points of innovation of the PMT X118 system?

As pioneers in aerodynamic systems, we strive to merge technical sophistication with the utmost safety. Introducing the EASY Plate, a groundbreaking innovation guaranteeing superior cross-connection, bolstering the system’s resilience to withstand any impact with its stability. Our mounting approach, employing a ’tilt and go’ principle, not only simplifies module installation but also minimizes potential damages during the proces and guarantees easy maintening of single modules. Intereference objects are no longer an issue as the system allows placement of single modules to max out the overall power.

Where is the PMT X118 produced?

All major components of X118 are meticulously crafted within Germany, boasting a mere distance of less than 100km from our headquarter in Stadtsteinach. Emphasizing our commitment to local sourcing, we prioritize partnerships with nearby producers, mitigating lengthy transport distances and ensuring quality while supporting our local economy.

What are the benefits of 2 clamping options?

We have the possibility to work with all common modules with only 1 system. The system can be clamped at the Quarter Point OR at the Edge Point of the module. This adaptability ensures that we can effectively meet the diverse requirements of various panels with our innovative solution.

Which modules can be planned with the PMT X118?

All standard module sizes:
Edge clamping
Length = 1,600 – 2,000 mm,
Width = 990 – 1,230 mm,
height = 30 – 40 mm

Quarter-point clamping
Length = 1,600 – 2,500 mm,
Width = 990 – 1,230 mm,
height = 30 – 40 mm
